Making Ireland Fairer
Fairer Education Provision
Children's right to an education is compromised by poor school buildings, lack of adequate provision of English language teaching for the so-called "New Irish" and an anti-intellectual disregard for internationally peer-reviewed research that underpins the claim that the ABA teaching method helps autistic spectrum children at least as much as the eclectic method does. We need to invest in our children from the moment they are born not only when they get into trouble or difficulty. Early years' education through to fourth level, combined with good physical and mental health - together will build a stronger, healthier society capable of building a strong, sustainable economy. Parents and Teachers need to be recognised as critical to the future of our society and therefore the economy. In all of these areas and in those which concern special needs provision to university students, I will work on finding solutions to the wasting of talent and potential produced by curt inequities in the system.
